A home fire evacuation plan saves lives by giving your family a fast, clear path to safety in seconds. Practice your exit routes, pick an outdoor meeting spot, and test smoke alarms monthly to protect everyone in an emergency.

Why You Need a Plan

• Fires move fast and create thick smoke.
• Fear and panic slow down your choices.
• A written plan keeps everyone calm and safe.

Simple Steps to Take Today

• Draw a simple map of your home.
• Find two ways out of every room.
• Pick a safe meeting spot outside your house.
• Practice your drill twice every year.

Quick Safety Checklist

• Test your smoke alarms every single month.
• Keep all doors and windows easy to open.
• Teach your children how to dial 911.

One of our members has been training for firefighter 1 certification. These are a couple pics of recent weekend trainings on ladders and roof ventilation. Our members are always doing their best to gain more knowledge and better our abilities to serve our community.

Today, we recognize the importance of mental health, especially within the fire service.

As firefighters, we are often the ones others turn to in their time of need. We respond to emergencies, witness difficult situations, and carry experiences that can stay with us long after the call is over. It’s important to remember that taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health.

It’s okay to not be okay. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of strength. Check on your crew, support one another, and never hesitate to reach out when you need someone to talk to.

🚒 We take care of our community. Let’s take care of each other, too.

💚 You are never alone. Your mental health matters.

Today we were able to set up a table at Moniteau future options fair and afterwards we held our annual fire prevention assembly at Dassa where we discuss with the kids what number to call in an emergency, the importance of an evacuation plan/meeting spot in case of fire, stop drop and roll, and more.
