A new Ohio law, House Bill 20, takes effect October 6, providing additional protection for first responders while we’re working at emergency scenes.

The law establishes a 15-foot safety zone around emergency responders.

Do your part—take a few minutes to read up on the new law and know what it means. Stay informed.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An incoming Ohio law will create a 15-foot buffer around police officers and other first responders while they are carrying out their duties, making it a crime to ignore war…

There are just a few more days until Ohio’s statewide burn ban takes effect.

The burn ban runs October 1 – November 30, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Please plan accordingly and burn safely! Stay safe, Worthington Township!

Ohio’s Statewide Burn Ban Isn’t New!

Just a reminder that Ohio has had a statewide burn ban for decades. Open burning is prohibited from 6am–6pm during March, April, May, October, and November because of increased wildfire risk.

These rules help keep our community safe and reduce the number of brush fires we respond to. Please do your part and follow the ban — it’s not new, it’s just important.

If you have questions about what is or isn’t allowed, feel free to reach out!

Ohio’s deer archery season begins tomorrow, September 26.

To all of our hunters, we wish you a safe and successful season! Take your time, know your surroundings, and make sure someone knows where you’ll be.

Drivers, keep an extra eye out for deer, especially around dawn and dusk! As hunting season gets underway, deer movement can increase — and they don’t always cross the road alone.

Stay safe, and good luck to everyone heading into the woods!

This weekend marks the start of Prairie Peddler, which means you’ll see our firefighters out and about for our annual Boot Drive!

The funds raised through the Boot Drive go directly back into our community. Whether it’s providing food and supplies to a family going through a difficult time, helping provide Knox Boxes for quicker access to homes in an emergency, or meeting other needs as they arise, these funds are for our residents.

We’re proud to serve the people of Worthington Township, and we’re grateful for the continued support our community shows us. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us be there when our neighbors need us most.
All of this is for them. Our community. Our neighbors. Our people.

If you see us out this weekend, stop by and say hello — and if you’re able, consider dropping something in the boot!
