Good afternoon Butler! On behalf of the Post Office and the Village of Butler Police Department, we would like to remind residents of several things regarding dogs in the Village. Recently the Village has had a rise in problematic dogs that have, among other things, led to increases in police contact for dog bites, people being chased by dogs, and issues with postal carriers. With that, please remember:
1. All dogs within the Village must be under control at all times, including on your own property.
2. When walking or enjoying the park, all dogs must be on a leash. Ordinance states that it cannot be longer than 6 feet and the collars that are dubbed "virtual leashes" are not included as being allowed in the Ordinance.
3. Please clean up after your dog. It is against Village Ordinance not to do this and is a simple courtesy you can give to your neighbors and the environment.

Failure to do this may result in citations being written to you as the dog owner, including restitution for any damage or injury caused by the dog. More importantly though, by doing this we can ensure the safety of everyone in the Village.

Good afternoon Butler! The Village is aware of incomplete restoration in the area of this year’s road project. The work was supposed to have been accomplished by We Energies’ contractor as it was a result of their gas main relocation project, but was not completed.

We have made contact with their contractor and they expect to be out this week to fix the areas not yet addressed. If you have any questions, please call Village Hall.

The Frontier Park bathroom will be closed for the season starting October 16th. This is being done early as over the weekend vandals broke the sink in the building. DPW will be performing a temporary fix this week, but the bathroom will not reopen until next Spring as a result. Thank you for your understanding.

Starting today, October 12th, the Village's Department of Public Works will initiate a hydrant flushing process. This essential procedure aims to eliminate naturally occurring, harmless minerals from our water system. Additionally, it will assist in clearing any remaining air pockets resulting from the recent water main breaks.
If you happen to notice Public Works personnel conducting flushing activities in your neighborhood, we kindly request that you consider minimizing your water usage for approximately 30 to 45 minutes. This precautionary measure will help prevent any potential water discoloration caused by the disturbance of minerals.
For any inquiries or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to Village Hall at 262-783-2525.
