We are working on this years tax bills, so I wanted to do a little update.

We mail bills out the first week of November. 2026 bills can't be paid until November 1st. Taxes are due by Dec. 31st and must be postmarked. We have numerous ways to pay...in person, online, drop box on east side of building, or mail. Do NOT wait till the last minute to mail payments it MUST be postmarked by Dec. 31st to accept without penalty and interest.

I will check the drop box at midnight on the 31st and anything after that will be deliquent. Paying online will have the same cutoff at midnight.

Cut off date to make changes to your tax bill is Dec. 15th. After that date you will have to pay what is assessed. Make sure to OPEN your bills and look at them before Dec 15th.

With our new software wait times might be a little longer as having a new system still has learning curves. Please allow that extra wait time if you are walking payments in.

Statements are REQUIRED this year. They have a barcode on them for processing payments. Whether you mail them in, walk in, or use the drop box the bottom portion is REQUIRED.

Statements will look different and I have posted what the FRONT and BACK side will look like. They will be on white paper with blue ink.

Friendly reminder we start printing bills next month for the upcoming tax season. Please make sure you have filled out your Assessment Sheet with the Assessor's Office in order to get a bill the beginning of November. You must fill one out every year they don't automatically generate them. Also if you have moved since doing so please update with them as well.

Starting October 1st we will NO longer accept payments over the phone. You can go to our website batescountycollector.com to make payments.

As of October 1st we will no longer take payments over the phone. We have a website now that you can use to make payments and want that utilized for furture card payments.

Friendly reminder the card companies charge a fee to pay with a card. Debit cards are $4 and credit cards are 2.45% of your total.
