Kelley Mansion The Kelley Mansion is one of the most recognizable and historically important homes in Montana.

We love to share our home with the community several times a year and often share our home to organizations and fund raising.

Thanks to Norm, it was a pleasure meeting you! Looking forward to seeing you again in September at the meeting of the Garden Club. The house received a good deal of attention and we received many compliments from the many people who saw and shared the story. Butte, Whitehall, Dillon and Anaconda garden clubs gave us the garden of the week designation with an article in the Butte Standard. The portico is loaded with geraniums and the beds have nearly 40 varieties of flowering plants. Gotta get the yard cleaned up before I can go backpacking again.

This is Marcus Daly’s race horse “Tammany”who at one time graced the floor in the Hotel Montana in Anaconda. The story I was told is that if a person stepped on the horse mosaic they would be buying the house a drink and deal with great consternation. Tammany now lives in a storage room in the Daly mansion in Hamilton.

Brian Hardy worker rebuilding the chimney for the original heating system for the house. The roof on the back of the house will be replaced and new gutters installed all over. In May the house will be caulked and painted. Should be nicer than a Las Vegas facelift!!

More recent photos of the room that has been named “the President’s room” for a number of different reasons, mainly because it has FDR’s photo. It was originally a breakfast room. It has a unique coved ceiling. The silk rug was gifted to us by the girl who owned the house 50 years ago.

The coffee room between the kitchen and the butler’s quarters with paint and wallpaper. The walls were firred over the stained bricks and the walls were insulated. The wallpaper had a nightmare installation pattern that is a beautiful design of embossed vines and flowers. I am running out of remodel rooms but have the closets and secret rooms yet to do.
