🔥 BURN BAN LIFTED 🔥

The Barry County Commissioners have lifted the county-wide burn ban.

While burning is now permitted, we strongly encourage everyone to practice safe burning habits:

💧 Keep a water source readily available.
🔥 Clear a substantial area around the burn of combustible materials.
📞 Notify Barry County Emergency Services E911 at 417-847-4911 before conducting a controlled burn. This helps reduce the chances of fire district resources being dispatched to a controlled burn that is not an emergency.

Please remember that burning conditions can change quickly. Continue to monitor our social media pages for updates to burning recommendations if conditions change.

Please join us as we come together to support one of our own, firefighter Bobby Ragsdale, who was recently injured in an accident and has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

Bobby is a dedicated firefighter and, most importantly, a father of three children. During this difficult time, we want to help ease some of the financial burden on Bobby and his family so they can focus on his recovery.

Reminder our burn ban is still in effect for Barry County until the Barry County Commissioners take it off. Thank you!

Overnight rainfall provided some welcome relief, helping to settle dust across the area. However, the precipitation was not sufficient to relieve our current drought conditions.

Due to ongoing dry weather and heightened fire risk, the burn ban remains strictly in effect for our response area and all of Barry County.

Please refrain from any outdoor burning at this time. We appreciate your continued cooperation and assistance in keeping our community safe.
