WEATHER ALERT:

An extended period of heavy rain and high winds is expected to impact Bourne and our coastal waters from Friday into Monday, with peak periods for the rain and winds expected Friday night into Sunday.

There is a potential for 4-6” of rain during this period with some very heavy rain bands that could make travel difficult at times and could cause some localized pooling of water on roadways. Monitor your local weather forecast closely as conditions and forecasts can change rapidly.

Wind gusts are expected to peak in the 50-60 MPH range which, with the potential for downed trees/limbs creating power outages.

Eversource is preparing for the possibility of a multi-day restoration effort. Crews have been secured, with resources assigned across the Upper, Mid, Lower, and Outer Cape. Residents should report outages directly to Eversource and stay away from downed wires.

Erosion is possible along our coastline, especially during high tide periods.

Please secure any loose items on your property.

Bourne Public Safety departments have been in communication and are coordinating preparation and necessary response efforts.
