Yesterday was the Michigan Apple Crunch! Students from the MS/HS enjoyed homemade apple crisp made with local Wyrick apples!

The Michigan Apple Crunch is an annual event supported by MSU Extension, the Michigan Farm to Institution Network, and the Michigan Apple Committee to promote National Farm to School Month and celebrate the iconic Michigan apple.

This also happened to be our homemade personal pan pizza day. What a treat!

Our JV Volleyball Eagles played an amazing three-set match against Lakeville! After a slow start in the first set, the girls came back in the second with renewed energy, determination, and drive to take the set. Although the girls ultimately fell short, they showed incredible fight and resilience throughout the match. It was great to see them bounce back, build momentum, and continue to push themselves against a tough opponent. While the loss wasn’t the outcome we wanted, there are so many positives to take away from this match! The girls continue to grow, learn, and improve every time they step on the court. Proud of their effort and determination! Keep working, Eagles!

Our Byron Middle School Football Team showed determination and resilience in their latest matchup while ultimately falling short to Brown City 46-16. Despite a challenging first quarter and a week without practice, due to our student-athletes annual DC field trip, the Eagles found their rhythm and continued to improve as the game progressed. The team stayed composed, made adjustments, and finished the game strong, showcasing their growth and ability to overcome adversity.

The Eagles delivered several exciting plays throughout the game, including an impressive 70-yard touchdown reception, strong blocking, and key defensive tackles. Players stepped up in different roles and demonstrated great teamwork on both sides of the ball. With plenty of positives to build on, the Eagles look to carry that momentum and confidence into their final game of the season next week versus Deckerville.

Last night the Middle School Girls fell to Birch run. Despite the loss, our girls showed a lot of heart and competed hard from start to finish. With our teams having to combine due to the DC trip, the girls had to adjust and play together in a different lineup, but they continued to battle and give their best effort. Adalee Z led the team with 9 points, while Sophie S and Nicole A each added 3 points. I’m proud of the way the girls continued to fight and support one another throughout the game!

Byron second graders enjoyed a walking field trip to our new Community District Library today! 📚 Students listened to a read-aloud, toured the library, and explored all it has to offer. For many, it was their very first visit!

What a perfect autumn day for a walk through our village to visit our very own community library! 🍂
