Tuesday Night Training: Job Performance Review Day #1. Being a firefighter is more than one class, its more than one certificate. Its continual training, its constant improvement, its being prepared for whatever call may come in. Last Tuesday, we tested our firefighters on basic skills such as pump operations, SCBAs, ladders, Search and Rescue, and Physical Agility Testing. This is an annual review to make sure that our members are maintaining general knowledge and skills. Between evolutions, our members engaged in Firefighter trivia vía a game called "Fireground". They battled head-to-head and the loser rolled the dice for "punishment". A fun way to practice skills and learn some friendly humility.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the amazing donation of this limited edition print complete with custom frame (courtesy of Howe's Woodworks). This print was donated to our raffle at our open house, bought by a resident, then given to the Howes for the custom frame. This image is so powerful and meaningful. We cannot express our thanks enough for this heartfelt donation.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of speaking to the students of Forest View Elementary about Fire Safety. This week is National Fire Safety Week with a focus on Safe Charging of Battery Devices. We shared tips on how to safely charge devices such as laptops/tablets, phones, and e-mobility devices (ebikes, scooters, etc.). Then we demonstrated how a firefighter puts on thier gear with a friendly race. And as always, we provided the kids an opportunity to spray water, check out our firetruck, and try on some firefighting gear. We always enjoy visiting our friends at Forest View, thank you for having us!

More from the national platform, Chiefs Knauf and Sogge speak about Dads 101 and other Community Risk Reduction (CRR) initiatives on Fire Rescue 1's podcast "Better Every Shift". We are grateful to serve such a supportive community and to continue to find ways to give back.
