SEO Service Center Serving Every Ohioan SEO also provides and maintains training facilities through a mobile computer lab and the F.

The SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Service Center, located in Caldwell, supports a consortium of 98 Library systems at 297 physical locations throughout 49 counties across Ohio using the OPLIN network. The power of this consortium resides in resource sharing among consortia members allowing small and rural library systems to have access to millions of items for their patrons free of charge. SEO Library Center houses, maintains and supports a centralized shared catalog database that includes over 8 million items with a patron database of 930,000+ borrowers. The SEO staff provides technical support as well as software help desk support for all consortium members, alleviating the burden of specialized IT functions on small libraries. Ward Murrey Annex facility (located next to SEO library Center) to state agencies and public libraries across Ohio.

On behalf of the SEO Library Center and the State Library of Ohio, we offer our heartfelt condolences to Ward's family and all who knew and worked with him.

Ward dedicated much of his life to serving Ohio's libraries, and his leadership helped lay the foundation for SEO's continued service to libraries today. His commitment to small and rural libraries, his years of leadership at SEO, and his continued service to the State Library of Ohio leave a lasting legacy.

We are grateful for Ward's extraordinary service and dedication. His contributions will long be remembered by the SEO and Ohio library communities.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Yesterday, State Librarian Mandy Knapp and Director of Operations and Technology John Stewart (SEO) visited Marietta College. They toured Legacy Library and met with Director of the Library, Associate Professor Angela Burdiss.

We're excited to announce that the State Library is entering an exciting new chapter, continuing our legacy of innovation to better serve Ohioans today and for generations to come.

WE'RE MOVING!
• Our staff offices are relocating to the heart of Columbus (35 E. Chestnut St.)
• Our invaluable collections are moving to a state-of-the-art archival facility in Gahanna (1831 Deffenbaugh Ct.)

These moves are all about modernization—enhancing services, protecting our collections, improving work-spaces, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

To support this major transition, the State Library will close its Columbus location at the end of the business day on April 14, 2026.
