81 years ago today, on D-Day, June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history across 50 miles of the Normandy coast in France. D-Day was the turning point in the European theater in World War II which eventually led to a European victory on May 8, 1945. The 2C Master Gardener Food Bank Seedlings Project would like to thank the Nampa Walmart for donating 2 pallets of Jiffy seed starter mix to the UI Extension Master Gardener Program. The 2C Junior Master Gardener volunteers will be back in the garden this Friday at for the Roots & Wings Nature Club's 2nd session. Youth will be exploring the world of trees, planting a garden of corn, harvesting & tasting what's growing in the garden, and leaf stamping too! ~dlc
