One year ago today, we took a giant leap toward the future of public safety in Noble County.
Knowing the status of EMS across the state and country, we set a lofty goal, of doing it better. A small group, including our commissioners, set out to do what many people told us wasn't possible. We had the will, and the desire, to build the best EMS system we could for Noble County. The process wasn't without hiccups, bumps, or bruises.
Then it happened. We made the announcement. We were going to move forward. Shortly after the announcement of this agency being built, the EMS levy was up for renewal. Our county told us at the polls what they thought of our endeavor. Our citizens passed the renewal by a very high margin. We then knew we had the support of our community. In the coming weeks preparations were made. Licensure and certificates were obtained. Equipment, ambulances, and real estate was purchased.
Then came the hiring process. 12 full time and many part time providers were hired. The date was set and a schedule was made.
At midnight on July 1, 2025, Noble County Emergency Services went live. Since then, we have faithfully responded to the needs of our community.
During this first full year, we have responded to 1,780 calls for service and transported 1,216 patients to hospitals or landing zones to meet with air medical transport for more serious incidents.
Thank you to our community, our providers, and our elected officials for making this happen and for their continued support.
We successfully made it through year one, and we look forward to many many more.
Thank you,
Director Bonnell
