Your water bill didn’t just go up overnight.

The City approved a five-year water and sewer rate plan, with increases continuing year after year. And in 2025, while Diana Nuricumbo was serving as Mayor, Calexico residents were already paying under the new rate structure — with another increase scheduled for 2026. (Calexico)

So here’s the question:

If residents are paying more, what are they getting in return?

And if city leaders supported the increases, shouldn’t residents be asking them to explain exactly why the rates keep going up?

Let’s bring Miguel Figueroa in for a deposition under oath to answer for this lawsuit.
He was Calexico City Manager in 2021. How come he didn’t comply with the state? Was he aware of Lisa Tylenda’s lack of credentials to run the planning department? And if he was, why did he still hire her?
Lisa Tylenda was the planning director from 2021 to 2023 and has now been a city councilmember for Calexico for almost 2 and a half years. That’s 4 and a half years total — and she still hasn’t complied with the state requirements for housing. Time to answer under oath.
Diana Nuricumbo has been a city councilmember for almost 2 years now. She dissolved the planning commission. Why? Calexico deserves real answers — under oath in a deposition.
Do not re-elect Lisa Tylenda or Diana Nuricumbo as city councilmembers.
They are incompetent and have no idea what they are doing.
But if you do re-elect them, you might get this…
Instead of focusing on real issues, she’ll be focused on asking people if aliens exist — while she has a seat at the table.
The truth is clear: Lisa Tylenda shares full responsibility with the city manager who hired her, Miguel Figueroa, despite her lack of knowledge for the position. Now California is suing Calexico over housing laws and missed deadlines. She was in a position to do something about it the entire time, but chose to turn a blind eye so someone else would take the blame.

Do you think housing prices are way too high in Calexico? 😤 Look no further than current City Council member Lisa Tylenda.
We have the 2021 letter proving she was personally notified as Planning Director… but the city dragged their feet for years.
Now the State of California is suing Calexico for housing law violations — putting all of Imperial Valley in the spotlight.
She ran her campaign on fixing affordable housing… yet we’re still paying the price with high rents and missing opportunities.
This is why the people responsible for these delays shouldn’t return to power. We need real change for our generation!
