Come lend a hand as we work together to maintain the trails we all enjoy. Whether you can stay an hour or all morning, your help is greatly appreciated!

Heads Up Everyone!!

Just a friendly reminder about the Georgia Jewel Race taking place this weekend - Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2026.

The 100-mile race begins at the Dalton Convention Center, travels through the Dry Creek Trail System, and then loops back to Dalton.

Please be aware that runners will be using the Dry Creek trails throughout the event, and there will be increased activity at the trailhead and along the trail system during those dates.

If you plan to ride, hike, or camp at Dry Creek that weekend, we ask that you please be mindful of race participants and use extra caution while enjoying the trails.

🚨 2026 Fall Wagon Train Ride Cancellation Notice 🚨

The Gordon County Saddle Club regrets to announce the cancellation of our Annual Fall Wagon Train Ride for 2026.

After several weeks of discussions and efforts to finalize event arrangements, we have determined that the increasing costs associated with facility rental, insurance requirements, and other county regulations have made it financially impossible for our nonprofit organization to host the event this year.

As a small volunteer-driven club, we work hard to provide quality events while also raising funds to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Unfortunately, the expenses required to conduct this year's ride exceed what our organization can responsibly absorb.

This was not an easy decision. We understand how much this event means to our members, participants, local businesses, and the community, and we share in your disappointment.

The Fall Wagon Train Ride has become a tradition that many of us look forward to each year, and we appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Please know that we are already exploring options and planning for future events, and we look forward to bringing the ride back in the future.

In the meantime, we invite everyone to join us for our St. Jude Trail Ride event on November 7, 2026, at the Dry Creek Trailhead.
