Huge congratulations to Mr. John Moss on their transfer to the Benny Magness Unit! Starting this month, they will be stepping into the role of Unit Trainer for us. We are excited to have him back with us and watch as he grows in this new position.

Itā€™s way past time for Missy to hit a homer. So far, all sheā€™s had is strikeouts. Sheā€™s deaf but is fantastic at following hand signals. She was here in ā€˜23 and was adopted. But Missy liked the elderly neighbors better and moved in with them. All was well until they could no take care of her and their 50 other animals. And Missy came back to us for round 2.

So far this time, her adoption plans have fallen apart twice. She doesnā€™t know that, which is a blessing. Missy is the happiest, sunniest girl. Friendly and outgoing, Missy loves being alive and isnā€™t hampered by the deafness. She loves people, other dogs, and cats. Missy is 6 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She thinks sheā€™s teacup toy and as a result, will sometimes knock over a little kid. Not on purpose, but it has happened. Look, sheā€™s trying her best and doing great. Missy will not let you down!

Many, many times. Thatā€™s how much weā€™ve said thereā€™s something extra beautiful about a shiny black dog on green grass. And here we go again! The dog is Brooks, an obvious lab mix. For lots of flash, Brooks comes outfitted with white socks and a white-tipped tail. He is a gorgeous dog. And a very sweet, affectionate one. He even gives hugs, which is always a bonus. Heā€™s not good with cats, but heā€™s very good with other dogs. But if one is vying for your attention, Brooks can get pushy about it and jump on you, hoping youā€™ll pet him instead. The inmate trainers are working on that. Brooks is 18 months old and is grown at 55 pounds. Heā€™s a well-meaning, smart boy who just happens to be stunning!

Thereā€™s a good chance you havenā€™t had your weekly dose of hound dog. But no worriesā€¦weā€™ve got you covered. Take a gander at Tucker, a delightful blend of treeing walker, pointer, and/or beagle. Heā€™s 8 months old and weighs 40 pounds. Heā€™s friendly, smart, gentle, and he gives hugs. True to his heritage, Tucker has a sharp nose and uses it to track. We donā€™t know what heā€™s after, but Tucker is hot on the trail. He does well with other dogs, but he doesnā€™t care for cats. Tucker likes to play and loves to be busy. Heā€™ll fit in smoothly with an active family who includes him in whatā€™s going on. Heā€™s a handsome, trim-colored boy with spots a plenty and great big stack of personality.

Arkansas State Employees and Public School Employees can now enroll through the NEW ARBenefits Member Portal at https://my.arbenefits.org!

The updated portal makes managing your benefits easier than ever. You can now enroll, make coverage changes, and update your informationā€”all without contacting EBD to unlock your account or reset your password.

If youā€™re not making changes to your ARBenefits coverage, no action is required. If you are making changesā€”and especially if you want an FSA for 2027ā€”be sure to complete them October 1ā€“31 using the new portal for the fastest processing.
