ROBERTSON COUNTY BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT
Robertson County remains under a Burn Ban. This ban has been in place for an extended period, and unfortunately, conditions have not improved enough to safely lift the restrictions.
Our first responders continue to respond to multiple grass fires each week. Some of these fires are the result of burn ban violations, while others have been caused by activities such as cutting, welding, and grinding. With the current dry conditions, even a small spark can quickly develop into a dangerous wildfire.
LIMITED BURN PERMITS
Recognizing the hardship this prolonged burn ban has created for some property owners, Robertson County will consider issuing burn permits under very specific circumstances.
These permits will be limited to necessary land-clearing activities, including:
Right-of-way clearing
Agricultural operations
Residential construction and development
Other qualifying activities where further delays would create a documented financial hardship
Applicants must demonstrate that postponing the burning activity any longer would result in a financial hardship directly related to the extended burn ban.
All permit requests will be carefully reviewed and must receive approval from designated fire and county officials. Strict safety precautions and fire prevention measures will be required to minimize the risk of fire spreading beyond the permitted area.
These permits are exceptions, not a general authorization to burn. The countywide burn ban remains in effect.
We understand the frustration and inconvenience this extended burn ban has caused, and we appreciate everyone's continued patience and cooperation.
Our priority remains protecting lives, property, and our first responders. As soon as conditions improve enough to safely lift the burn ban, we will do so.
Please continue to use extreme caution with any outdoor activity that could produce sparks or ignite dry vegetation.
