🍂 October looks good on Camano Island.

The fields are changing, the air is getting crisp, pumpkins are at the Farm Stand, and the farm is settling into a whole different rhythm after summer.

🌾 Some places have a history you can still see.

Kristoferson Farm has been part of Camano Island for more than a century, and reminders of that history are everywhere – from the old red barns to the fields, forest and structures that generations before us knew, too.

The farm has changed and evolved over the years, but it remains a working piece of Camano Island history rather than something preserved behind glass.

And we think that makes it pretty special.

There’s a lot of history behind the name Kristoferson. 🌲

For generations, this place has been shaped by the people who have lived here, worked the land, cared for the forest, and found new ways to keep the property active and relevant while holding onto what makes it special.

Today, Kristoferson Farm is home to agriculture, forestry, community events, outdoor adventures, workshops, and plenty more – but its roots run much deeper than any one thing happening here now.

We love that this is a place that keeps evolving without losing its connection to the past. ❤️

💧 There’s more happening in this landscape than you can see from the road.

Kristoferson Lake forms the headwaters of Kristoferson Creek, which winds south through a beaver marsh before eventually reaching Triangle Cove and Port Susan.

And there’s something particularly special about that little creek: it’s the only salmon-bearing stream on Camano Island.

Over the years, work on the property has included replacing undersized culverts with bridges, protecting vegetation along the creek, and restoring native plants – all part of caring for the habitat that depends on this watershed.

Just one of the many ecosystems quietly at work here every day. 🌿

🍂 A quick update to our Farm Stand hours!

The Kristoferson Farm Stand will open at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, October 16, instead of our usual 10 a.m.
