We are thrilled to announce that two of our health services team members, Senior Health Services Specialists, Ms. Stephanie Herber and Ms. Alyssa Wagner, have been selected as our PVSD Military Community Award of Excellence honorees and were recognized by PVSD at the 29th Annual Military Appreciation Dinner on Friday, September 25, 2026.
We are grateful to Trustee Beckie Cramer and Trustee Bob Rust, along with Dr. Danielle Cortes, Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent Katie Burchell, and Beth Harris, Director of Educational Options & Expanded Learning, for joining us in recognizing and celebrating Stephanie and Alyssa. A special thank you goes to Beth, who coordinates the awards and helps make this meaningful recognition possible.
This recognition highlights and honors the value of military-connected staff throughout the organization. Both Stephanie and Alyssa provide immeasurable value to the District in their willingness to share the story of their lived experiences, and through that, build empathy throughout the district. We are better equipped to serve our military affiliated students and families through their willingness to contribute their knowledge, ability to brainstorm best care and support options, and their commitment to bringing those needs forward for consideration. Our military POC often goes to them to seek insight and ensure our practices and supports align with the needs and values of the community of which they are now a part. This partnership improves PVSD’s ability to meet our vision of Excellence for All.
