Join California State Parks at Hearst San Simeon State Park Campground and be the friendly face that welcomes visitors to one of the Central Coast’s most iconic destinations! In this role, you’ll run the campground kiosk operations, help campers check in, and keep San Simeon Campground running smoothly.
✅ In this role, you’ll:
✔️ Operate the campground kiosk and greet visitors with quality customer service
✔️ Check in campers and assist with reservation logistics
✔️ Collect and account for park fees, including cash handling and daily receipts
✔️ Answer visitor questions in person and by phone, and explain park rules and regulations
✔️ Communicate effectively with rangers, camp hosts, and fellow staff
✔️ Help maintain a clean, welcoming campground environment
📍 Location: San Simeon, CA (San Luis Obispo Coast District)
💼 Position: Senior Park Aide (Seasonal)
💰 Salary: $20.90 - $25.15 per hour

🛑 Additional Details:
Works under the direct supervision of the Supervising State Park Peace Officer (Ranger)
One year of experience in educational, recreational, public service, or customer service programs required; cash handling experience preferred
Flexible hours and part-time work available due to our isolated location
May work up to 1,500 hours within 12 consecutive months
State housing is not available
Background investigation (Live Scan) required prior to appointment
New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification (or alternate range, when applicable)
