Cambridge Fire and Ambulance

Cambridge Volunteer Fire and Ambulance would like to extend a huge thank you to Ian Phillips with Life Flight Network for taking the time to come to Cambridge last night and provide valuable landing zone training!

We were also grateful to be joined by members of Midvale Fire Protection District and Ambulance, Weiser Fire District, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Thank you all for taking the time to train, learn, and strengthen our skills together.

When someone calls for help, they are often experiencing one of the worst days of their life. Behind every emergency response is a team of dedicated individuals and agencies working together to provide the best possible care and outcome.
The time to build teamwork isn't during an emergency. It's long before the call ever comes in.
Training opportunities like this allow us to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and prepare for those critical moments when every second counts.
We are incredibly thankful for the strong partnerships we share with our neighboring agencies and for the willingness of everyone to come together with one common goal: being there for our communities when they need us most.

Cambridge Volunteer Fire and Ambulance would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kaycee May Sturtevant for nominating us for LMNT's Give a Salt Program!

Staying properly hydrated is essential when battling fires during the heat of summer, and these electrolyte packs will help our firefighters and EMS personnel replenish what their bodies lose while working in demanding conditions.

We truly appreciate your support and generosity. Thank you for helping us stay healthy, hydrated, and ready to serve our community!

In just one week, Cambridge Volunteer Fire has responded to three wildland fires.

Two of those incidents were mutual aid responses for our neighboring departments, one with Indian Valley Rural Fire Department and another with Weiser Area Rural Fire District. The third was within our own jurisdiction, the Horse Flat Fire.

When local fire departments, the RFPA, and the U.S. Forest Service come together, we're able to respond quickly and work as one team to keep these fires from growing. We are incredibly grateful for our neighboring departments, not only for coming to our aid when we need them, but also for allowing us to assist them when they call.

As we continue through a year of high fire danger, everyone can play a role in preventing wildfires. Please stay aware of your surroundings, keep grass and vegetation trimmed around structures, use sprinklers to help protect buildings when fires threaten, make sure chains are secured and not dragging, inspect your tires, use extra caution with tools or equipment that can create sparks, and always have water or a fire extinguisher nearby when working outdoors.

Every small step makes a difference, and together we can help protect our communities.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported our firefighters by bringing food, water, electrolytes, and words of encouragement while crews have been on the fire line. Your kindness and generosity mean more than you know. We couldn't do this without the support of our community.

We'd like to give a big thank you to everyone who helped with the Horse Flat Fire yesterday.

A huge thank you to our mutual aid partners from Midvale Fire, Weiser Fire, Indian Valley Fire, Payette National Forest, and the Weiser RFPA for coming together and working alongside us. We'd also like to thank Washington County Dispatch for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes and the Washington County Sheriff's Office for their assistance on the incident.

It was a great example of neighbors helping neighbors and agencies working together toward the same goal. We're grateful for the teamwork, support, and dedication everyone brought to the fire.

Our hearts are with Jakaela Edwards family, friends, and Weiser Area Rural Fire District. Please keep them in your thoughts in this difficult time.

Tomorrow starts the county wide burn ban. There will be no open burning after midnight tonight. Fires go from contained to out of control in a blink of an eye. This year is going to be a hard one, let’s all work together. Please do not burn without the proper permitting.

This week, we celebrate the voices behind the line—our dispatchers. 🎧

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we recognize the calm in the chaos, the steady voices in the dark, and the unseen heroes who answer every call—no matter the hour.

Here in Washington County, our dispatch team is the first link in every emergency response. They are the lifeline between those in need and those who respond.

To our Washington County Dispatchers: thank you for your dedication, your strength, and your unwavering commitment to our communities. We hear you, we appreciate you, and we stand with you.
