🦺 PRINCIPAL SPOTLIGHT: CHAD DIXON

North Central Middle School Principal Chad Dixon believes perseverance and positive relationships provide a strong foundation for success.

🛠️ Tool for Success: Perseverance is a key tool that all students need for success. Students who consistently work at making themselves better, regardless of the subject, sport or situation, are able to overcome obstacles that many people give up on.

🧱 Building Block: An important building block for our school community is creating and growing positive relationships with all students and staff. When people are heard, feel valued and can trust each other, good relationships can grow and blossom.

📐 Blueprint Advice: Respect, good manners and humility will take you far in the world. Those three items are growing more and more uncommon in today’s society but are also becoming more appreciated. People notice young men and women who consistently say, “Yes, sir or ma’am,” or “Thank you.”

🏗️ Currently Constructing: One exciting project coming up at our school is the Patriot Reads Celebration. Students and staff select books to read, and the school brings those books to life through a special day of related activities. It is definitely one of my favorite days.

Thank you, Mr. Dixon, for building positive relationships and encouraging North Central Middle students to lead with perseverance, respect, good manners and humility!

🔎 FOCUS ON: North Central Elementary — In Depth

💚💛 What Makes North Central Elementary Special? 💛💚

At North Central Elementary School, EXCELLENCE… ALWAYS means helping students and staff grow academically, socially, emotionally and physically.

Through Wellness Wednesday, students are encouraged to care for their whole selves — mind and body — so they can feel their best and do their best. Wellness Wednesday also reminds faculty and staff to care for themselves and one another. 💚

During Guidance Classes, students learn about emotions, empathy, kindness and the power of encouraging others. They put these lessons into action by writing heartfelt notes to NCE staff members. Programs like Girls on the Run also help students build confidence, resilience, healthy habits and positive relationships.

Kindness continues throughout the school with Staff Knightly Shout-Outs and “We Are Lucky to Have You” messages from students and families. 💌

NCE is also proud to be recognized as one of America’s Healthiest Schools for 2026, including recognition for staff wellbeing! 🏆

At NCE, they’re building strong minds, healthy habits, kind hearts and meaningful relationships.

💚 Feel your best. Do your best. Be your best.

⭐ EXCELLENCE… ALWAYS! ⭐

🦺 PRINCIPAL SPOTLIGHT: DR. KAREN OLDHAM

At the Continuous Learning Center, Director Dr. Karen Oldham and her team know that every student is still under construction.

🛠️ Tool for Success: Every student needs the confidence to try, to make mistakes, to ask questions and to keep going when something feels difficult. Confidence doesn’t mean believing you’re perfect—it means believing you’re capable of becoming the best version of yourself.

🧱 Building Block: A strong school community is built when everyone knows they matter. Belonging is the foundation that helps students feel safe enough to learn, brave enough to try and confident enough to grow.

📐 Blueprint Advice: Believe in your blueprint—but remember, YOU are the architect. Don’t be afraid to make adjustments. Don’t be afraid to start over. And never let one difficult chapter convince you that your story can’t have a beautiful ending.

🏗️ Currently Constructing: At CLC, we aren’t constructing just one thing—we’re constructing possibilities. We are building confidence, belonging, strong relationships, academic skills, character and hope—the belief that your past does not have to define your future.

We may be Under Construction, but the future we’re building is bright.

Thank you, Dr. Oldham, for helping students build confidence, character and brighter futures—one choice, one challenge and one success at a time!

🦺 PRINCIPAL SPOTLIGHT: CASEY FAULKENBERRY

Camden Middle School - SC Principal Casey Faulkenberry knows that strong schools are built one relationship—and one present, engaged student—at a time.

🛠️ Tool for Success: Respect for themselves and others

🧱 Building Block: Having a growth mindset

📐 Blueprint Advice: Surround yourself with people who respect and support your goals, while also holding you accountable and/or helping pick you up if you are not giving the best version of yourself.

🏗️ Currently Constructing: We are working hard on improving student attendance because we know when students are present and engaged, learning and growth take place.

Thank you, Mr. Faulkenberry, for encouraging Camden Middle students to show up, keep growing and become the best versions of themselves!

🦺 PRINCIPAL SPOTLIGHT: SHARON LEWIS

At Doby's Mill Elementary School, Principal Sharon Lewis is raising expectations and helping students rise together!

🛠️ Tool for Success: Confidence—the belief that they are capable of learning, growing and overcoming challenges. When students believe in themselves, they are more willing to persevere, ask for help and try again when learning becomes difficult.

🧱 Building Block: Positive relationships. A strong school is built when students, families, staff and community partners feel valued, supported and connected to a shared purpose. At Doby’s Mill, we believe that we are stronger when “We Rise Together.”

📐 Blueprint Advice: Never allow a mistake or a difficult moment to define what you believe you can become. Learn from every experience, keep moving forward and remember that your future is still under construction. Mistakes are opportunities to learn!

🏗️ Currently Constructing: At Doby’s Mill, we are building a culture where every student is encouraged to grow and take pride in their progress. Our teachers work hard to meet students where they are, help them set meaningful goals and support them as they take their next steps forward. We celebrate growth because progress matters. When our students grow, we all grow—and that is how “We Rise Together.”

Thank you, Mrs. Lewis, for building positive relationships and helping Doby’s Mill students believe in themselves, learn from every experience and keep moving forward!

🦺 PRINCIPAL SPOTLIGHT: GORDON MORRIS

Who better to help us break ground on our National Principals Month celebration than Woolard Technology Center Director Gordon Morris? 🏗️

As KCSD continues Constructing Success, Mr. Morris and the WTC team are helping students build the skills they need for successful careers and futures.

🛠️ Tool for Success: A tool students need that I hear from industry partners is to show initiative and take on challenges. Every experience is an opportunity to learn and prepare for success.

🧱 Building Block: One important building block to build community is developing true partnerships with all shareholders—students, teachers, families and businesses.

📐 Blueprint Advice: One piece of advice for students is to have a strong work ethic and integrity. These cannot be replaced even if technology changes.

🏗️ Currently Constructing: We want every WTC graduate to leave fully prepared with the employability skills, qualities and confidence needed to be successful in their career and future.

Thank you, Mr. Morris, for helping WTC students build the initiative, work ethic, integrity and confidence they need for successful futures!
