The statement below is by Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr.

"For weeks I've been calling Trump a traitor to this nation for aiding and abetting an authoritarian, international criminal by the name of Vladmir Putin. As the dictator of the Russian people, Putin lives and breathes as one of the greatest threats to all of western civilization, not just the Ukraine. Through Trump's actions and rhetoric, he has given Putin an international spotlight he craves, an economic windfall to fund his war machine and has betrayed all of his western allies. Putin will die as one of the largest scoundrels of this millennium who will be responsible for sending millions of Russians to their deaths in the same way his hero Stalin did as the Soviet Premier. Based on these actions I believe Trump is a traitor to both this nation and every other western democracy that our country is allied to. I went on a Philadelphia radio show to outline this position in detail last Friday, and I will continue to make my voice heard on this issue regardless of who likes it or not. I also said I believe Trump should be removed from office. Let me be clear and say that this should take place only through legal actions that our framers outlined in the U.S. Constitution. Period, full stop. At no time was I implying anything other than removal through Constitutional means based on the 25th Amendment or impeachment. Violence and hate have no home in our political and electoral process, and I want to be clear that I fully endorse Trump's removal through those methods."

The statement below is by Commissioner Jonathan Young in regard to the off-duty death of Camden County Department of Corrections Sergeant Joseph Christinzio.

“Earlier today, the Board of Commissioners learned of the passing of Sergeant Joseph Christinzio of the Camden County Department of Corrections. Sergeant Christinzio served Camden County for over twelve years with honor, integrity, and professionalism. In a role that is often thankless, Sergeant Christinzio displayed an unwavering commitment to his profession, the individuals he served at our correctional facility, and to his colleagues at the Department of Corrections.

Beyond his service to Camden County, Sergeant Christinzio was a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we extend our sincerest condolences to his wife Lindsay, the entire Christinzio family, and his law enforcement family at the Camden County Department of Corrections.”

Commissioner Jen Cooley Fleisher joined community members this past Sunday for the March of Remembrance, an educational walk honoring Holocaust victims and survivors while reflecting on the importance of standing against hatred, antisemitism and intolerance.

Participants walked to the Esther Raab Holocaust Museum & Goodwin Education Center, where activities encouraged families and children to learn more about the Holocaust.
