Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy Flight Central, McConnellsville Fire Dept, Florence Fire Dept on our floor, NY State Police, NYS DOT, and Camden Ambulance assisted us yesterday during this MVA on State Route 13 involving a pedestrian. Thank you to those involved for the assistance. Thank you to the public for keeping clear of the area while the scene was reconstructed and investigated.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a two car motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, that occurred on State Route 13, in the Town of Camden.

On 08/25/2026, at approximately 6:50pm, Deputies were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident involving personal injury. Upon arrival, Deputies determined that the pedestrian was struck by one of the vehicles involved and pronounced deceased on scene by medical staff. Members of the Criminal Investigations Unit, along with members of the Forensic Identification Unit responded to the scene to assist. The accident is currently being reconstructed. State Route 13 between Trestle Rd and Hillsboro Rd, in the Town of Camden has been reopened to the public as of 1140PM. More information will be released at a later time.

It is with profound sadness we share the passing of one of our own, Phil Denison, after a courageous battle of an illness.

Phil has been an active member of the Camden Vol Fire Dept for over 30 years volunteering as fire police, as well in positions of leadership as the President of the Board of Directors for many years.

No matter where you seen Phil, whether on the road blocking an emergency scene or in the Wheel Tent at the field days, he always had a smile that lit up the universe.

Phil will be sorely missed as our days move on without him.

Until we meet again, Brother, we’ll take it from here. Godspeed.
