💚 National 4-H Week Proclamation
It’s National 4-H Week! 💚🍀
What better way to celebrate than by visiting the Milam County Commissioners Court to officially recognize the impact of 4-H right here in our community!
We are proud to share that Milam County has proclaimed October 4–10, 2026, as National 4-H Week! The proclamation recognizes the incredible work of 4-H in empowering young people with the skills they need to lead for a lifetime. Ntl4HWeek-Proclamation-26
This year’s theme, “Beyond Ready,” reminds us that 4-H is building a generation that is ready to take on a changing world, while giving young people the opportunity to learn, grow, lead, serve, and discover their passions along the way. Ntl4HWeek-Proclamation-26
We are so thankful to Milam County Judge Whitmire and our County Commissioners for recognizing the importance of 4-H and for supporting the youth, families, volunteers, and leaders who make our program possible.
Here’s to a generation that isn’t just ready for the future… they’re going Beyond Ready! 🍀

🔥 BURN BAN UPDATE 🔥

We have received a considerable amount of rain in several areas of Milam County. However, there are still parts of the county that have received very little—or no—rain.

After visiting with several of our fire chiefs and Emergency Management, they have asked that we hold off on lifting the burn ban for now.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely. If we receive enough additional rainfall over the next 24–48 hours, we will reassess the situation and determine whether conditions are suitable to lift the burn ban.

We know there are a lot of folks who need to get burn piles taken care of, and we understand the frustration of having to wait. We just need a little more rain across the county before we can safely lift the ban.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation. Hopefully, Mother Nature will help us out a little more over the next day or two!

Our CASA crew just grew! 🩵

Help us welcome Sandy and Jessica to CASA of Milam County. We’re so happy to have them…and we know the children they’ll be advocating for will be too! 👏👏
