Students in Ms. Jordan’s class had a high-flying time creating their very own kites! 🪁 While designing and building, students explored creativity, problem-solving, and how wind helps objects move through the air. They were so excited to see their ideas come to life and can’t wait to watch their colorful creations soar!

Ms. Troupe's class was working on science and math growing minds with tools and building new ideas. Then both 4th grade classes were working together to solve multiplication problems in hands on and technology ways.

✨CLASSROOM SPOTLIGHT✨

During shared reading, Dr. Hart’s second-grade students worked with partners to read the realistic fiction story Max and the Mayor. As they took turns reading, students practiced fluency by reading smoothly and accurately, and they reread sentences whenever they made mistakes to improve their understanding. Using the questioning strategy previously modeled by Dr. Hart, students asked questions before, during, and after reading to think deeply about the text. They looked for answers that could be found directly in the story and used clues from the text to make inferences when answers were not explicitly stated. Through partner discussions and careful rereading, students strengthened their comprehension while building confidence as readers.

Ms. Fredrick's kindergarteners have been putting their names to work across the curriculum!

Across literacy and math, students have been practicing recognizing, spelling, and writing their names, while also counting and comparing the number of letters in them. We’ve built names, graphed name lengths, and even made name keychains during math to connect counting with something meaningful and personal.

These activities have given students lots of hands-on practice with early literacy and number sense skills while helping them build confidence and independence.
