SENIOR DAY

A fundraiser/recognition day was held on September 12th at the Johnsonville Golden Adventurers Center, hosted by the Golden Adventurers Senior Group. A day of celebration, the event also helped make the community aware of the senior group and the services it, along with the Harnett County Nutrition Site, provides for area citizens over the age of 55.

Sponsorships for any seniors over the age of 80 were available for purchase and at a “pinning ceremony” the honorees were recognized for the contributions they have made to the community over their lifetimes. Activities and displays were geared to all ages, including kids' arts and crafts, line dancing, antique cars and household items, vendor booths, bingo, raffles, hotdogs for sale, and a food truck.

It was a great day of fellowship and community spirit while raising funds to support the seniors so that they can continue being a safe, comfortable place to congregate, share interests and meet new people.

This is today! Honor our Seniors and enjoy some community spirit!

At the Pot Luck Breakfast held on Saturday, August 15th, there was food galore for the sizable group of Seniors who attended. Many conversations were going on around the tables where new faces and faces not so new all shared the various dishes provided by club members. Thanks to all who attended and made it so fun.
