Mitchell County School System MTSS school teams recently attended the RTI at Work™ Conference with Mike Mattos and Solution Tree in Atlanta, Georgia!

Through intentional learning, team collaboration, and dedicated work time, our teams focused on continuing to build upon the district’s foundational MTSS processes and systems, strengthening Tier 1 core instruction, and refining Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention practices to better meet the needs of ALL students.

With the support and leadership of our Superintendent and PreK–8 Curriculum Director, our teams remain committed to building a collaborative, systematic approach to ensuring high levels of learning for every student.

A group of MCSS curriculum leaders and instructional coaches had a great few days of learning, connecting, and collaborating at the GACIS Fall Conference!

The conference provided opportunities to engage in meaningful professional learning, gain new insights, and connect with educational leaders from across Georgia. A special highlight was having the opportunity to briefly chat and take a photo with Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods!

The team is returning to Mitchell County inspired, informed, and ready to put the learning into action as they continue supporting our schools, teachers, and students. ❤️💙🦅

🎓MCHS GRAD RATE SOARS ABOVE THE STATE AVERAGE! 🎓

Mitchell County High School is celebrating an incredible milestone! Our 2026 graduation rate reached 97.62%, up from 87% in 2025, which is a 10% increase! Even more exciting, MCHS outperformed Georgia’s state average of 88.5%! ❤️💙

This achievement reflects the hard work and determination of our students, along with the unwavering commitment of our teachers, staff, families, and district and school leaders.

We are proud of the progress, proud of our graduates, and proud to be EAGLES! 🦅

🦅 Mitchell County Schools is SOARING! 🦅

What an incredible opportunity for our students, administrators, and Superintendent Dr. Veronica Brown to speak at the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission meeting and share some of the exciting things happening throughout Mitchell County Schools!

We were especially proud to highlight how SWGRC has helped give our students a voice through the development of Civility Clubs at our middle and high schools:

These clubs are empowering our students to lead with confidence, character, respect, and purpose. They are learning the importance of listening, learning, and collaborating as they develop into the leaders of tomorrow.

One of the most memorable moments was receiving a standing ovation from the audience! Our Eagles were incredibly proud to stand and share the great things happening in Mitchell County Schools.

🏈 Rivalry Night is here! 🏈

Tonight, the Mitchell County Eagles and Pelham Hornets will meet on the field for a great community rivalry! Superintendent Dr. Veronica Brown & Superintendent Laron Smith had a little fun showing that while we may be cheering for different teams tonight, leadership, sportsmanship, and community always come first.

We can compete hard, support our students, celebrate our schools, and still enjoy a friendly rivalry! 💙💛❤️

Of course, I’ll be cheering loudly for our Mitchell County Eagles! 🦅🏈

Good luck to both teams, and let’s have a safe and exciting game tonight!
