Today marks 25 years since the terror attacks on the United States. We honor the memory of the 2,977 victims who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, keeping them, their families, and our heroes in our hearts. A quarter century ago, everyday life was cut short across our nation as 2,753 people were lost at the World Trade Center in New York City, 184 at the Pentagon, and 40 brave passengers and crew members aboard Flight 93 near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Among those tragically lost were 441 courageous first responders, including police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel who answered the call and made the ultimate sacrifice to save others. The number 343 often displayed on helmets honors the 343 firefighters included in that heroic count. More than 9,000 people have since died from cancers and respiratory illnesses linked to the rescue, recovery, and cleanup efforts.

In one single moment, life was changed forever, yet in the dark days that followed, our nation came together with unprecedented unity, resilience, and compassion. We will never forget that day, the lives that were lost, or the boundless strength that brought us together as a country.

🚨 Patriot 26 is on the move! 🚨

Airmen, Soldiers and emergency response partners are on the move at Volk Field and Fort McCoy for a week of hands-on disaster response training. 🚁

If you're traveling in the area this week, keep an eye on the roads and skies! Expect to see increased military vehicle traffic on local roads and military aircraft operating around the training locations.

It’s all part of Patriot 26—building readiness, strengthening coordination and preparing our teams to respond when it matters most. 💪🇺🇸

Buildings can be fixed and trees can be replanted. Fortunately there were no injuries found by our crews. Strong work by the on duty crews for their extensive search efforts through the debris field.

Shout out to the Civil Engineering crew for their quick response and the hard work on the clearing efforts.

Captain Kuhse and FF/EMT Ziech responded to the report of a semi vs vehicle accident back in February. They arrived on scene first to find passerby’s that jumped into action for patient care and set the tone for a successful response. That allowed our team to work on vehicle stabilization, extrication and resource management. The quick actions of the passerby along with the dedicated EMS professionals we work along side on a daily basis are unmatched.

Great work by all

Gundersen Air extends its sincerest appreciation to Mauston Ambulance, Volk Field Fire Department, and a committed Good Samaritan, honoring them with Clinical Excellence Challenge coins for their remarkable teamwork in February, highlighting the community's unrelenting commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
