Native American string figures are traditional designs and games created by weaving a loop of string or yarn through finger movements, often accompanied by stories, songs, or seasonal traditions.

Edd Sterchi, who learned the art of Native American string figures from his Choctaw grandmother, will be at TCPL on Thursday, November 5 at 3 PM in the Community Room to share this art.

Edd will share the history of Native American string figures and demonstrate the art while storytelling. This program is great for all ages so join us for a bit of history and fun. Invite a friend and come!

We have space available for the African American Heritage Driving Tour this morning, Monday, October 19, at 10 AM! Meet us at TCPL at 10 AM to join in.

Join Taylor County Public Library, Wanda Washington, and Greater Campbellsville United on Monday, October 19, for a unique journey through Taylor County’s African American history. We’ll board the bus at 10 AM with local historian Eddie Hazelwood and visit significant sites while uncovering the stories of notable African Americans and their lasting impact on our community.

Discover new history at familiar landmarks like Campbellsville University, Merchant’s Hotel, and the Heistand House, while exploring lesser-known sites such as George Redman’s Tavern and Community Spring.

This tour is perfect for history enthusiasts of all ages. Reserve your seat and discover the stories that helped shape Taylor County! The African American Heritage Driving Tour will begin and end at Taylor County Public Library. Please meet in the conference room to sign in.

It's time for our annual Mythical Beasts Tea Party next Saturday, October 24! Sign up link below.

For all kids ages 5-12, this party will be full of mythical creatures, princesses, knights and castles. Come dressed up and ready to make a shield, decorate a crown, and more at TCPL next Saturday, October 24 from 10 AM - 12 PM!

A door prize of The Bad Seed Presents: The Good, the Bad, and the Spooky by Jory John will be raffled off at the end of the party. An ice cream bar will be available full of toppings fit for any royalty or mythical creature.
