Hello friends! It is that time of year again. Time for crisp air, Friday night football, everything flavored in apple or pumpkin spice, and most of all the the littering of colors covering every yard and public space from political signs! Every fall these things sprout out of the ground trying to give you some name recognition so that even though you don't know the person or what they stand for, on Tuesday you will subconsciously remember that name and place your vote.
If you haven't noticed any with my name, good job! I dont want them. I want you to know me, who I am, and what I stand for. That is why I have spent the last 2 years attending games, meets, concerts, productions, competitions and showing up anywhere I could to support our kids. I have also been fortunate to meet a lot of parents, friends and supporters of those kids that I never would have crossed paths with. That was an unintended benefit.
For those that don't know me, my family came to the area officially about 80 years ago when my grandfather bought a farm from the Oser family. My parents are both alumni ('60, '64). I graduated in 1996, and my son did as well in 2024. To say Northwest is in my blood is an understatement. I spent 16 years volunteering as an assistant band director for the High School before stepping down to become a board member. I am still blessed from time to time to be asked to help with the choirs whenever they need me.
If you want to know something about me, or where I stand on something, I am here and available. I dont always agree with everyone, but I'm willing to share my thoughts and have a good conversation. I have fielded many questions via messenger and text thanks to the county publishing my cell # đŸ¤£, but I enjoy talking with you all and sharing ideas.
Next Tuesday I humbly ask that you vote to keep me on the board for our schools. OUR schools. They belong to you. They belong to me. They belong to our kids.
