Did you know that October 18th - 24th is National Friends of Libraries Week? Yep, Friends of Libraries groups have their very own national week of celebration, and rightly so! We simply could not offer all of the special programs, create and maintain Little Free Libraries, or provide community exploration passes without the support of our fabulous FOL!
So cheers to our incredible FOL for putting in all of the hard work to fundraise for, promote, and support the Canal Fulton Public Library - you are simply the best!

Are you ready for a "spooktacular" program??? Take a trip with author Sherri Brake next Saturday, October 24th, beginning at 2 pm for "Stones & Bones!" here at the library. See images of creepy cemeteries, haunted graves, and beautiful statuary. View funny headstones and epitaphs and hear of graveyard superstitions, mourning customs, and more. Locations featured will include Ohio and beyond. No registration is required for this program – but seating will be on a first come, first served basis.
Make plans to attend, if you dare!

Just a reminder that the library will be closed all day on Monday, October 12th for Staff Development Day. We will be busy learning new ways to better serve you! Our normal hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13th.

We can't wait to see everyone on Saturday (October 10th) at the fabulous Canal-O-Ween Festival downtown, coordinated by the folks from Historic Downtown Canal Fulton Business Association Events! This family friendly event is always "spooktacular" - be sure to visit our team at the Trunk-Or-Treat area from 4-7 pm!

We would like to send out a huge thank you out to everyone that visited our library in September to get a new library card - we ended up with 86 new library card holders last month, which was fantastic!
We also want to thank everyone that used their already existing card and participated in our raffle basket contest - that was so much fun, too - pictured here are two of the lucky Circulation Department raffle basket winners!
We can't wait until Library Card Sign-up Month next September for more fun and prizes 🎉❤📚

It's officially TeenTober, and we want to celebrate it with everyone! TeenTober is the time of year where we shine a light on everything Teen Services, and to kick off the month we're hosting our first teen program tomorrow, Friday October 2nd at 3:30 pm, but it's so cool we want to open it to anyone 10 and older, meaning even the adults get to come!

We'll be learning all about the wolves and the roles they play alongside meeting Ozzy, the Canid Center's live educational animal ambassador. This is one encounter you won't want to miss!

Calling all civil war history buffs! Did you know that on this coming Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 PM Ulysses S. Grant will be here (via costumed presenter Doug Ebert) to present on Grant's life and presidency? You don't want to miss this extra special living history program, which is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Canal Fulton Public Library.

Check it out: we will once again be a drop off location for the Jackson Bear Hugs stuffed animal donation program through October 22nd! Last year we helped lots of stuffed animals find new loving homes!

We so enjoyed the ORMACO performance by Mark Alan Wade this past week and hope that if you attended the concert that you did as well! Mark is incredibly musically talented, and he taught us about the international history of the hammered dulcimer in addition to playing beautiful music for the audience.
We asked Jane, the Artistic Operations Director for ORMACO, if she would pose for a picture with her brand new Canal Fulton Public Library card this week after the concert and she said yes! We cherish our programming partnerships with community groups like ORMACO as we strive to provide exceptional programming for all ages.
