There is something about the arrival.

The pine needles scattered across the drive. The colors beginning to change. The feeling of leaving the busyness of the day behind as you make your way to the sanctuary.

We spend so much of our lives moving from one thing to the next. It’s easy to forget what it feels like to slow down, notice what’s around us, and simply be where we are.

At Buds in Bloom, we make room for that.

Through guided forest therapy, we invite you to experience the living world in a different way, reconnect with yourself, and discover what becomes possible when you give yourself time.

Sometimes, the slowing down begins before you even arrive. 🍂

Private forest therapy experiences for individuals, couples, and small groups.

Sometimes, we need to slow down enough to notice what’s already growing. 🌱

Even in the smallest places, life is unfolding.

What might we notice if we gave ourselves a little more time to look?

At Buds in Bloom, we create space for these moments of connection with ourselves and the living world.

You don’t have to go far to begin. 🌿

There is a reason we created Buds in Bloom.

Life asks a lot of us. We move from one thing to the next and can lose touch with ourselves and the world around us.

We created this sanctuary as a place to slow down, notice what is here, and reconnect with the living world.

Through guided forest therapy, we make space to listen, wander, rest, and simply be.

Sometimes what we need isn’t another thing to do. It’s an opportunity to experience the world differently.

This is what Buds in Bloom is here for. 🌿

Private forest therapy experiences are available for individuals, couples, and small groups.

On Friday’s sound walk, I heard the deer snorting again and again. When we gathered to share what we’d heard, I realized many people had never heard this sound before. Even my husband, who has lived here for seven years, only recently recognized it.

A deer’s snort is a warning, often signaling that something nearby has startled it or may pose a threat.

I know this sound well from living in the woods. The first time I heard it here, I was eye to eye with a deer on the very path I was walking. He stomped his feet and snorted, making it clear I was too close for comfort. I crouched down and watched him for a while before he bounded away. All I caught at the end was the flash of his white tail.

I love seeing the animals who share this land with us, but I’ve also learned to appreciate the distance. This is their home, too.

The woods are speaking all the time. The more we listen, the more we begin to recognize the lives unfolding around us, even when we cannot see them.

Perhaps belonging to a place means more than knowing what lives here. Perhaps it means learning to listen, to notice, and to respect the lives that were here long before we arrived.

What changes when the sun goes down? 🦉

There are things in the forest we rarely notice during the day.

On October 9, we’ll enter the woods after dark and listen for them.

Through gentle forest therapy invitations and a guided sound walk, we’ll explore what happens when we rely less on sight and become more attentive to sound, touch, presence, and the more-than-human world around us.

We’ll spend time moving through the darkness together, then return to the fire to share tea and let the evening settle.
