Join us next Thursday, October 22nd, for another inspiring art journaling class led by our own Jen Collazo. This class will focus on how to create interactive art journal pages that encourage touching, folding, opening, and playing with pages rather than simply looking at images. For those who’d prefer to just work independently on their own journals, we’d love to have your company too. No need to preregister. Free fun for teens and adults!

Our next Community Craft Night is this Thursday, October 15th. Join us downstairs anytime between 5:00-7:00pm. Bring your ideas, use our supplies, and create whatever you’d like. This event is free and open to everyone!

We’ve made a few changes at the library in the last few days that you might notice if you visit us during our book sale today and tomorrow (October 9th and 10th). On the outside, the Friends of the Candor Free Library hung a new “Read with Me” banner they purchased to replace the one that had grown a wee bit faded.

Inside the lobby, we hung an AMAZING old wooden sign we recently found in our Historical Room! We haven’t yet confirmed its original location, so if you have any old photos that might help us solve the mystery, we’d LOVE to hear from you. We think it might have been at the old train depot when the library was located there.

Inside the main part of the library, we’ve switched out our quilt display to hang the 2023 New Quilters on the Block Leaf Quilt Challenge. Our wonderful local quilters guild has temporarily loaned this beautiful piece to us. Be sure to stop in and see it before the end of the year.

Thank you to ALL of the individuals and groups who make our little library such an interesting (and “visually pleasing”) place to visit!
