CONTINUING TO MOVE FORWARD INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE!

At Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4, we believe that standing still is not an option. The fire service is constantly evolving, and we are committed to evolving right along with it.

With the continuous upgrades to our 911 Dispatch Center and CAD system, helping improve the way calls are received, dispatched, communicated, and managed from the moment an emergency comes in.

We are also taking steps forward by adding tablets to our first out apparatus. These tablets will give our crews access to critical information while responding, helping improve situational awareness, communication, navigation, and access to information needed to make better decisions on the fireground and at emergencies.

This is about more than technology. It’s about giving our firefighters the tools they need to do their jobs safely and effectively and ultimately providing better service to the citizens we protect.

From equipment and training to technology, communications, and operations, CCFD4 is constantly working to improve. We may be a volunteer department, but we refuse to let that stop us from pursuing professional standards and investing in our people.

New technology. Better communication. Better preparedness. Stronger department.
And this is only the beginning.
Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 ALWAYS READY. ALWAYS MOVING FORWARD.

SURPLUS FIRE APPARATUS AVAILABLE FOR DONATION

Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 is proud to announce that we have TWO surplus apparatus available for donation to a fire department in need. As our department continues to grow and improve our fleet, we have an opportunity to pass these apparatus along to another department where they can continue to serve a purpose and help protect a community. We know there are fire departments out there especially smaller and volunteer departments that are working hard with limited resources and equipment. If one of these apparatus can help a department improve its response capabilities, protect its firefighters, and better serve its citizens, then we want to see it put to work.
The goal is to help departments in need that can put one of these apparatus to good use.

Two apparatus available to be Donated to a qualifying department. Priority will be given to departments demonstrating a genuine need.

1 - 2002 International / Central States Engine, 1250 GPM Pump, 1000 Gallon Tank, 5 man cab, 4 w/SCBA Seats, Rescue Style Body.

1 - 1995 Chevrolet 3500 with Ambulance body that was converted to use as a Service Unit

All donations will be subject to applicable surplus property requirements and approval.

If your department is interested and for further apparatus details, please contact:

Closing Out an Incredible Week at the 121st LSFA Conference!

The crew is wrapping up an amazing week at the 121st Louisiana State Firemen’s Association Conference, and what a week it has been!

Our members spent countless hours attending top-notch trainings, seminars, and learning opportunities, bringing back valuable knowledge and skills that will help make Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 an even stronger department.

But it wasn’t all training! The crew was also able to squeeze in a little time to catch up with old friends, meet new people, and build new relationships with firefighters and departments from across Louisiana. These connections are just as important as the training itself and help strengthen the fire service as a whole.

We’re proud of our members for taking the time to invest in themselves, their skills, and ultimately the citizens we serve.

A week full of training. A week full of fellowship. A week full of growth.
Now it’s time to bring that knowledge home and put it to work!

This week, Chief J. Menard and several members of Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 have the privilege of attending the 2026 Louisiana State Firemen's Association (LSFA) Conference in Baton Rouge.
Throughout the week, our personnel are participating in a wide variety of training sessions, educational classes, and leadership development opportunities taught by some of the fire service's most experienced instructors. From emergency operations and firefighter safety to leadership and the latest advancements in the fire service, our members are committed to expanding their knowledge and sharpening their skills.
At CCFD4, we believe that training is one of the greatest investments we can make. Every class attended and every lesson learned strengthens our department and ultimately benefits the citizens we proudly serve. Our firefighters are bringing back valuable knowledge, new ideas, and best practices that will help us continue providing the highest level of emergency service to our community.

We would like to thank the Sunset Fire Department and other fire departments who responded to residential structure fire last week. While thankfully no one was harmed in the fire the residents, a disabled man and his wife who were unable to afford insurance are now homeless. We have contacted the American Red Cross to help but these residents could use as much help as possible. If anyone is wanting to donate please contact the the Chief of Police. The Chief will ensure all donations received are delivered to these residents in their time of need.

Land of the Free Because of the Brave.

Today we celebrate the birth of the greatest nation on Earth and honor the men and women who have defended our freedoms throughout our nation's history. As we gather with family and friends to celebrate this Independence Day, let's also remember the sacrifices that allow us to enjoy these moments together.

Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 wishes everyone a safe, happy, and blessed Fourth of July. Whether you're enjoying a backyard barbecue, watching fireworks, or spending time with loved ones, please celebrate responsibly. Keep fireworks away from homes and dry grass, never leave grills or fires unattended, and always designate a sober driver.

While our community celebrates, your volunteer firefighters remain on call, ready to answer whenever duty calls. Holidays don't stop emergencies, and if you need us, we'll be there day or night proudly serving the communities we call home.

From all of us at Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4, thank you for your continued support of your volunteer fire department.
May God continue to bless our community, our first responders, our military, and the United States of America.

Happy Independence Day! Stay safe, celebrate responsibly, and let freedom ring!

A few weeks back, we were excited to announce that Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 had officially placed our new apparatus, Engine 401, into service. While she was ready to answer the call, there was still one thing missing, her graphics.
After a little time and a lot of planning, she's finally complete!
Following the incredible success of the Louisiana Mosquito Festival last year, the designation of the Village of Cankton as the Accordion Capital, and with CCFD4 proudly serving the heart of Cankton, our members wanted Engine 401 to represent more than just a fire truck. We wanted her to reflect the community that stands behind us every single day.
At first, we weren't sure how to incorporate all of those things into one design. Then, the light bulb came on, and our members put their heads together to create something truly unique.
Today, we are proud to officially introduce Engine 401 in her completed form. Her graphics are more than just a design, they're a tribute to the people, traditions, and community that make Cankton and Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 so special.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support CCFD4. This truck proudly represents our community, and we can't wait for everyone to see her!
🚒 Welcome to the family, Engine 401!

When most people think of the fire service, they picture turnout gear, fire trucks, hoses, and the Jaws of Life. What many may not realize is that firefighters carry a variety of specialized tools designed to solve problems and save lives in situations that don’t always involve fire.

One of those tools is a vehicle lockout kit. Coulee Croche Fire District 4 is equipped with lockout kits that allow trained personnel to gain entry into locked vehicles during emergencies. These tools can be critical when rescuing infants, toddlers, vulnerable adults, or anyone unable to unlock a vehicle during the extreme Louisiana heat we know all too well.

While not as recognizable as some of the equipment on our trucks, lockout kits have saved lives countless times and very recently, right here in another Acadiana area.

Earlier this year, several of our members attended a fire service event. Afterward, they stopped for lunch nearby. Because of the apparatus they were driving, they parked toward the back of the parking lot. When they returned to their vehicle, they observed a local fire department removing a child from a locked vehicle parked just a few spaces away.

We never learned the exact circumstances whether the vehicle locked itself, the keys were accidentally left inside, or something else occurred. What we did know was that a child was trapped in a vehicle, and help was needed immediately.

That moment served as a powerful reminder that emergencies can happen anywhere, including in our own district. Sometimes the most valuable lessons come not only from training classrooms and controlled exercises, but also from real world situations we encounter every day.

At Coulee Croche Fire District 4, we are always looking for opportunities to learn, improve, and better serve our community. Every tool on our trucks has a purpose, and every lesson learned helps us be better prepared when our neighbors need us most.

🙏 A woman is highlighting what rescuers did for one mom in a parking lot.
