Jim Auer, working with his daughter, Camille, received approval for a $2500 grant to Lighthouse for Hope to assist at minimum 5 families with a child fighting pediatric cancer. This non-profit organization was founded by cancer survivor, Hannah Cobley. Hannah is determined to use her second chance at life to help others struggling with a battle she has fought. Steve Auer put together a request for the Los Angeles Youth Network for funding to go towards summer activities for the kids they shelter. A $3,000 grant was awarded. Please watch the short video: https://www.outsideonline.com/2236361/what-happened-when-i-took-homeless-kids-island
"The "Summer of Fun" that you helped to underwrite is now over. Thanks in part to your support, our youth had lots of adventures these past few months. Some adventures were in town. Others, a short drive away. But for the youth at our Transitional Living Program, the best adventure was a boat ride away.
Wes Siler, who runs Indefinitely Wild, once again led a group of TLP residents on an outdoor adventure they will never forget. The link will take you to his on-line column about the experience. Enjoy the read. And when you have the chance, I hope you will watch the 10-minute video that is embedded in the piece. It's a treatβlike a DVD extra with youth providing the commentary!
Best wishes from all of us at LAYN"

Molly Rogers secured a grant to help sponsor the Annual Fair Haven Run for Hospice. This year is the 12th annual run and takes place July 1, at 9 am. Molly always organizes the possible participants for the Auer team, that often grows with the addition of family visiting for the holiday. The Foundation voted to increase their sponsorship to $500 this year. Good luck team Nana. Take photos!
