Project REBUILD Inc. Building skills. Building leaders. Building brighter futures by empowering Stark County residents with education, career pathways, and leadership development.

Founded in 1999 by Carolyn Hess, Project REBUILD continues to serve young people in Stark County more than twenty years later with the same program components of education, work readiness training, leadership development, youth development, and providing service to our community. We also offer our members hands-on construction training, safety training, post-secondary exploration, post-program apprenticeships options, substance use support, financial literacy, life skills lessons, and health and wellness programming. Our comprehensive nine-month program focuses on positively impacting all aspects of a young person's life. We understand that creating a trust relationship is one of the key steps to our success and theirs. That relationship is what will allow a young person to step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and push themselves beyond their limits. Our organization operates YouthBuild Greater Stark County, our young people may be enrolled as YouthBuild AmeriCorps members, and we provide services for young people enrolled in WIOA's CCMEP (Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program). We partner with local high schools in the area to provide the best options and pathways for young people to achieve success.

Five years ago, we spent the day at one of Canton's beautiful parks enjoying a picnic and the last of the fall weather. It feels like just yesterday! 💛☀️🍃

A huge thank you to the Stark Education Partnership and Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership for inviting us to be part of an incredible day of learning and exploration.

Our participants had the opportunity to tour The M.K. Morse Company and Stark Industrial, where they got a firsthand look at local manufacturing careers, asked lots of great questions, and learned about the skills and opportunities available right here in our community.

Experiences like these help young people connect classroom learning to real-world careers and expand their vision for what's possible in their future.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed our group and shared their time, knowledge, and expertise! 👏

Last night’s AMP after school session was all about finding what we have in common! 🎉

Participants teamed up to build towers, ask questions, and discover new things about each other. Through teamwork, conversation, and a little friendly competition, new connections were made and relationships grew.

And let's be honest, keeping 16 students in grades 4–8 engaged and connected is no easy task, but Neely from University of Mount Union did an outstanding job leading the session and creating a fun, welcoming environment for everyone. 👏💙

This Week’s Competency: Communication

Communication is about more than just talking. It means listening to others, expressing yourself clearly, asking questions, and working together to understand different perspectives.

At Project REBUILD, our young people are building communication skills they can use every day, whether they're working as part of a team, preparing for a job, or navigating everyday challenges.

Strong communication builds stronger relationships, better teamwork, and more opportunities for success. These are skills that last a lifetime! 👏
