The remnants of Hurricane Isaias produced strong wind gusts throughout Cherokee County that downed numerous trees. Wind gusts of 30-50 mph were common, especially across Northern Cherokee County. A gust of 52 mph was recorded in the Clayton community, and a gust of 47 mph was recorded at Fire Station #15 in Mica/Yellow Creek. Throughout the event, 43 road closures occurred due to downed trees and/or power lines. 4 homes were damaged by falling trees, but no injuries were reported. Around 1,500 homes remain without power. Utility crews are working to restore power quickly.

Isolated showers and occasional wind gusts of 20-35 mph are still possible, but the wind gradient should relax through the evening.
