Shortly after 9:00 A.M., units from Station 12 (covered by Tender 6 at the time) and Station 9 responded to a commercial fire alarm activation at the Isherwood Fieldhouse located on One R U Eagles Way adjacent to the football field at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. First arriving units found smoke coming from the roof of the building and activated a full commercial structure fire response out of precaution. After quickly investigating the scene, a fire was located in a commercial dryer inside of a locker room. The fire was contained to the dryer and did not spread to the structure. Active flames had been extinguished by the baseball coach using a fire extinguisher prior to the arrival of fire units. Tender 6 and Truck 9 emptied the smoldering contents of the drier and ensured all fire had been put out. Prior to leaving the scene, members from both companies ventilated the structure to get smoke out of the building.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
