Meet Clint Smith, a man who isn't afraid to admit where his basketball talents are best utilized... IN THE STANDS! 😂🏀

Clint is representing Canton R-V, and while some of our players are coming in with championship dreams, Clint seems perfectly content just being part of the experience!

At least he's honest! And suddenly, that spectator position is making a whole lot more sense! 😂

Finally, an athlete with a well-rounded diet! Clint doesn't discriminate when it comes to food. If it's edible, it's probably on the menu!

Senior Raelyn Merida finished her high school career with a 42nd place finish at the Class 1 State Golf Meet at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex on Tuesday. Raelyn had a two-round total of 213 in her third consecutive trip to the state meet. Next year, she has committed to play golf at Central Methodist University. Congratulations on a great season!

Culver-Stockton College education students will provide free childcare for faculty, staff, and families attending Parent-Teacher Conferences tonight and tomorrow night. Games and activities will be available in the band lobby!

Canton R-V will be operating 3 AFTERNOON bus routes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Morning routes will remain unchanged.

The Canton Lady Tigers softball team advances to the Class 1 District 5 Championship after defeating Schuyler Co. 15-2 in semi-final action. The Lady Tigers will face North Shelby at 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 20. The winner advances to the State Quarterfinals (Elite 8).

MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT UHLMEYER

Canton R-V is facing approximately $184,000 in state funding shortfalls this year, with that number potentially growing to $207,000 next year.

At the same time, Missouri is raising expectations for schools through its new A–F report card system.

We believe in high expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement. But those expectations must be matched with the resources needed to help students succeed.

I've shared a brief explanation of what these funding decisions mean for Canton R-V and why our community should be paying attention.

Our students deserve both high expectations and the resources to meet them.

Due to Saturday being an ACT national testing date, the Class 1 District 5 semifinal game versus Schuyler Co. has been moved to a 3:00 p.m. start. The game will be played at LaPlata and the bus will leave at 12:30 p.m.
