October 29th, FREE Caregiver Meeting!
Senior Services invites caregivers to attend a free monthly meeting. Meetings take place at various locations and feature a range of topics and discussions. The event is open to all individuals in caregiving roles. Additional details for this months meeting are available on the event flyer. Call Crissy at 678-493-4106 for more information.

Senior Services participated in the Senior Extravaganza, hosted by Cherokee County S.A.L.T. This annual event connects seniors, caregivers, and families with information on available programs and services. Staff members Crissy Welch and Nicole Francen engaged with attendees, answered questions, distributed promotional materials, and highlighted the programs and services provided by Senior Services.

Cherokee County Senior Services Homemaker Team - These ladies work "hands on" in our senior's homes. They provide light housekeeping services, grocery shopping, and run critical errands. Led by Amanda Hill Knott, these ladies, along with two contracted homecare agencies provide this service throughout Cherokee county. The significance of this program is much more in depth than a simple house cleaning. The individuals served by this program often cannot take their trash outside of their home. Some are unable to change their bed linens. And are unable to stand long enough to complete tasks within their home. This service allows seniors to remain independent and live in their homes longer.

Our outstanding case management team sporting their "Love Where You Live" shirts. These compassionate case managers oversee a large caseload of clients. Led by Melaine Holmes, they are the starting point of our services. They "look out" for our seniors, assuring their needs are met and concerns are addressed. They provide knowledge, resources, and advocate for our senior's best interest. We appreciate each of you and your dedication to our seniors.

Today, a group from the Canton Congregate went to the North Georgia Fair and enjoyed many different attractions and activities.

They tried classic fair foods, spent time with friends, rode rides, and enjoyed all the sights and sounds of a fun-filled day at the fair. For some, it was their first time at a fair since they were kids.

Everyone left smiling, and all agreed they had a wonderful day at the fair.

To date, we have raised $4,294.50, which will provide 818 emergency meals and feed approximately 27 individuals for one month. While this represents a promising beginning, additional funds are required to meet ongoing needs. Senior Services sincerely appreciates the community’s strong support and the generosity of our dedicated donors. As our mission to serve the aging population expands, we thank all who have contributed. Your donations directly benefit neighbors, friends, and family members experiencing food insecurity in Cherokee County. All contributions remain within the community, ensuring that every dollar supports local residents.
