Delegate Dave Cannon stopped by our station yesterday evening before our monthly meeting began to present a check for $5000 to be used towards the purchase of a water rescue boat.

State Senator Darren Thorne delivered his check of $5000 in September to us.

We also would like to extend thanks to Governor Patrick Morrisey and Senate President Randy Smith for allowing both of these financial contributions to happen.

Now with these monies in hand along with the money the Hampshire County Commission has committed and money from recent fundraisers we can move forward with the purchase of the boat and gear.

Lastly we thank our members and commmunity for their continued support.

🚨 ATTENTION CAPON BRIDGE RESIDENTS: FALL BURN LAW STARTS OCT 1st 🚨

Help us protect our community, homes, and beautiful forests! Before you light that brush pile, please make sure you know the West Virginia state law.

Starting October 1st, the West Virginia Fall Fire Season is officially in effect. This means strict daytime burning bans are enforced across the state through December 31st.

Here is what you need to know to burn safely and legally:🍁

RESTRICTED BURNING TIMES:

❌ NO BURNING: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

✅ BURNING ALLOWED: 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Fires must be completely extinguished by 7:00 AM!)

🔥 SAFE BURNING RULES:

Stay with your fire: Never leave a fire unattended for any reason.

Clear the area: Clear a 10-foot dirt perimeter around your burn pile down to mineral soil to prevent the fire from spreading.

Watch the wind: If it's windy out, please do not burn—even during legal hours.

☎️ HAMPSHIRE COUNTY RESIDENTS:Before you light any fire, you are required to log your controlled burn by calling the Hampshire County Communications Center at 304-822-6000.

🚨 As always, if a fire gets out of control, do not call the station directly—dial 911 immediately!

Please help your Capon Bridge Volunteer Fire Department by SHARING this post to spread the word to your neighbors!
