Tree Mulching Volunteer Day
Help us care for Carbondale’s community trees! Join the Carbondale Tree Board for a Tree Mulching Volunteer Day on Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m. at the Carbondale Market Place Lofts.
Volunteers will help spread wood chip mulch around trees to protect their roots, retain moisture, reduce weeds, and keep our public right-of-way trees healthy.

Have an idea to reduce waste in Carbondale? Funding may be available to help make it happen.

The Town of Carbondale Environmental Board is accepting applications for the Community Waste Reduction Grant (funding: $1,000–$7,000) , supporting community-led projects that reduce waste, inspire behavior change, and promote a more sustainable and climate-positive community.

Projects could include:
• Reuse or repair initiatives
• Composting or recycling improvements
• School- or youth-led efforts
• Community education campaigns
• Creative, long-term waste reduction solutions

Last Yard Waste Drop-Off of the Season – This Saturday | Último Día de Entrega de Desechos de Jardín – Este Sábado

This Saturday, September 26 from 9 AM – 12 PM, is the final yard waste drop-off day of the season! Drop off at the dirt lot across from Town Hall – 4th St. & Colorado Ave.

Proof of residency is required. Accepted items include grass clippings, leaves, weeds, garden and orchard waste, sticks, brush, and small branches (up to 2" in diameter and 4' in length). Please empty all bags—plastic and paper bags are not accepted in the bin.

Small, local nonprofits may request up to $7,000, with priority given to organizations providing services that directly benefit Carbondale residents.
