“A good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them.”

Today is International Literacy Day! Carlisle Borough is home to lots of Little Free Libraries, where you can take a book or leave a book. Little Free Libraries not only improve book access and increase literacy, but they also create stronger and more connected neighborhoods.

Thank you to all of the Little Free Library stewards for providing the gift of books to your neighborhood! If you have a Little Free Library, feel free to share it in the comments!

If you have not had the chance to take the survey yet, we still want to hear from you! It doesn't matter how you interact with our park and recreation system - from rec softball player to summer day camp parent to a casual park trails user - we want to hear your thoughts. To take the survey, you can scan the QR Code included in the graphic or you can visit www.arcg.is/HeuH00.

If you have questions about the comprehensive plan or need help accessing the survey, please contact us at 717-243-3318 or email us at [email protected]!

PPL Electric Utilities brought its Live Line Electrical Safety Exhibit to Carlisle this week, with members of the Carlisle Fire Department and surrounding fire departments in attendance.

The exhibit is a scale-model, 7,200-volt electrical distribution grid featuring live electrical wires, utility poles, and a transformer. The demonstration focused on the hazards that can exist both above and below ground, as well as how to prepare for and mitigate risks when working around electricity.
