Carlisle Area Sertoma

We held our annual awards dinner Wednesday evening. Congratulations to Barb Stallsmith for being our Sertoman of the Year! She is so deserving for all she does!

Terry Orendi, founder of Bountiful Blessings and Heavenly Haulers, was our Service to Mankind winner. Her strong Christian faith has carried her across the state, following her mission to support churches and communities. They provide help, hope and support to families of all faiths by providing non-food items in exchange for mandatory volunteer time.
Thank you to our volunteers on the awards committee and the food committee for an amazing event.

Human trafficking can look different in every community, which is why education and awareness are so important.

Recently, our team had the opportunity to discuss with the Carlisle Area Sertoma club about human trafficking in Cumberland County, the services we provide to survivors, and the unique challenges of addressing trafficking in our community.

Education is a key part of prevention. We regularly provide trainings and educational opportunities for organizations, community groups, social clubs, and others on topics ranging from bystander intervention and digital safety to mandated reporting and human trafficking.

If your organization is looking for an opportunity to learn more and build the knowledge needed to help keep our community safe, we’re here to help.

We were excited to be with Amy Kehm on Good Day PA on ABC27 today, promoting our Baseball Camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth!
If you know any child aged 5-15 who has hearing loss, please let us know! We have room for a few more campers!
The week long camp is FREE and includes a baseball game with Harrisburg Senators!

We recently presented $1000 scholarships to two local students going on to study Speech-Language pathology.

Ashleigh, a graduate of Boiling Springs HS, will be attending Penn State University.

Madeline, a graduate from Carlisle HS, will be going on to study at Lebanon Valley College.

Congratulations ladies! We can’t wait to hear about your accomplishments in the future years. 🎉👏👏
