Today CFRS daylight crew hosted 180 students from Hamilton Elementary School grades K,1st, and 2nd.

Students were shown a short video ( Sesame Street Visits the Firehouse), given some fire safety tips, got to meet a firefighter dressed out in turnout gear and SCBA, took a tour of the Ladder Truck, and finally each student was able to spray water from a real fire hose to put out a “house fire”.

We are sincerely grateful to Principal Kilmer and all the Hamilton Elementary staff for allowing us time with the kids to teach them about fire safety.

Hazmat Incident - In the early hours of October 5th CFRS was dispatched to a call reporting many pink objects spreading rapidly in front of the station. Firefighters prepared to arrive on scene for a hazmat situation. We were completely shocked to find Flamingos!! Our inspection concluded they are part of a fundraiser for Carlisle High School's improv comedy group, Wingin' It. The flamingos did not require decontamination but they did want a selfie with Engine 45.

Want to help them keep moving? Send their flamboyance to a friend or buy flamingo insurance by Emailing: [email protected].

Send them to your neighbor before they migrate away 🦩

Engine and Tower 45 assisted Co.46 with this working fire early Thursday morning!

Big shout out to Shermansdale Fire Company and Upper Allen Fire Department for covering station 45 while we were committed and for assisting with clean up.

This is the 2nd working fire the Engine and Tower have responded to in 4 days.
