🔥 Staff Development Day at Kent Public Library! 📚

Last Friday, we closed our doors for a day of learning, teamwork, and a little bit of fun, all with one goal in mind: to better serve our community!

We gathered at the library for some important and informative training sessions. Community member and Carmel Fire Department's Charlie Lamb reviewed fire safety and evacuation procedures, Natalia Sanchez of the Prevention Council of Putnam provided Narcan training, and Lauren Hamill of the Anderson Center for Autism led us through training on creating an autism supportive environment.

Of course, no staff development day would be complete without a little friendly competition! We tested our library knowledge with a Kahoot! trivia game, and our Adult Programmer, LeeAnn, took home the top score and a prize! 🏆

We also had a special sneak peek at our upcoming Escape Room, opening to patrons on October 27th. Our teen programmer Noelle put it to the test, and the good news is that everyone escaped! The only catch? They had to survive Miss Chris chasing them through the stacks dressed as Freddy Fazbear! 😂 You really had to be there!

It was a fun, informative, and laughter filled day, and we’re back with fresh knowledge, new skills, and plenty of enthusiasm for serving our community.

We’re OPEN and ready to welcome you! ❤️📖
