On Monday, October 5, County Executive Kevin Byrne will present his executive budget proposal to the County Legislature at a special meeting. All are invited to attend, but please RSVP as space is limited at the Historic Courthouse.

If you cannot attend in person, the presentation will be livestreamed on the county website.

PUTNAM COUNTY PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Putnam County Department of Public Works is seeking Seasonal Laborers to fill several 26-week positions in the Parks and Recreation division. 40 hour weeks at $20 per hour!

Parks: Duties include but are not limited to snow removal, lawn maintenance, janitorial duties; litter cleanup; brush and tree trimming; trail maintenance; special event setup and cleanup, general construction labor; etc.

📣Falls Prevention Week is next week! 📣

Falls can happen to anyone, but many falls can be prevented. Falls Prevention Week is an opportunity to raise awareness and learn simple, practical ways to reduce your risk of falling and stay safe, strong, active, and independent.

Throughout the week, the Putnam County Office for Senior Resources will be hosting informative presentations and activities at our Friendship Centers covering topics such as:

💊 Medications and fall risk
👂 Hearing and falls
🏥 Rehabilitation and recovery
🧠 Health conditions that can increase fall risk
🧘 Tai Chi and other wellness activities

Every year, Putnam County hosts a youth lead 9/11 remembrance ceremony outside our Bureau of Emergency Services building. Thank you to all that attended this morning and thank you to our Putnam County Youth Bureau for putting on such an important event.

The Memorial will start at 8:45 a.m. at the flagpole in front of the Bureau of Emergency Services.
