Story Time was so much fun today!
We talked about Fall and all of its amazing colors. 🍁
The kids were hyper (in a good way)! We danced and we sang and we got all of our wiggles out. Then we dove right into reading:
“Fletcher and the Falling Leaves” by Julia Rawlinson.
It’s a beautiful illustrated book that follows the little fox Fletcher in his quest to save his favorite tree from losing its leaves. He learns that the tree is not sick and that falling leaves are good and that his tree looks just as beautiful covered in ice and snow.
The kids were so great at point out colors and telling us all about fall.
Then we danced a fall freeze dance that had us hopping through a pumpkin patch, picking apples, and jumping into piles of leaves.🍂
We colored pictures for the firemen and women that taught us so much last week as a great big thank you.
The kids were all full of energy, as they said, they “got their sleep!”
Seeing these friendships bloom is such a wonderful thing.❤️

Toddler Time is always a good time!
The kids are all so excited when they arrive. They can’t wait to play and see their friends and have so much fun!
They danced to the Good Morning song, some just content to watch the video or their friends dance. Then we read “Bats in the Library” by Brian Lies. 🦇
It’s one of our absolute favorites here at the library and it usually makes everyone chuckle.
The kids did a fun interactive autumn leaves video, searching for a red leaf by traveling through corn and pumpkins.
Then, the kids did some coloring for our firemen friends. ❤️
It was such a fun day, nobody wanted to leave!

Story Time took a field trip to the Nemacolin Vfd this morning!
The firemen and women gave them a lesson in fire safety and why it is important to not be afraid and to not hide from them. 👩‍🚒
The kids, and parents, also learned the importance of fire detectors and Carbon Monoxide detectors. 🧯
The kids got to try on a fire helmet and jacket and got to see the mask the firemen wear and what they’d sound and look like coming in to rescue you! 👨‍🚒
The kids really enjoyed sitting in the back of the ambulance. 🚑 They saw the blood pressure cuff and the oxygen monitor, getting their readings done.
Then they got to climb through the fire truck!🚒
Lastly, the kids got to help put out a little house fire!🔥 They sprayed the house with some assistance and had so much fun!
A few of the kids wondered where the real emergency was, much to our amusement.😅

Thank you to the men and women of Nemacolin VFD. We appreciate your knowledge and allowing us to come and see a little of what you do. We all learn so much from you, and the adults are all so grateful for what you do for the kids. ❤️
