Congratulations to Sergeant Shawn T. Seaman on graduating from the prestigious FBI National Academy, session 299. The FBI National Academy is a premier leadership development program designed to provide senior law enforcement leaders with transformative developmental opportunities that build partnerships and promote excellence in policing worldwide. In collaboration with the University of Virginia, this ten week residential program offers accredited, university level instruction to law enforcement leaders across the United States and around the world.

Special thanks to the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Academy who made his attendance possible

Big thank you to Mayor Bigham, Council President, Phil Boyd, Vice President, Sue Demko, Council persons, Tom DiPietro, Rick D'Loss, Terry Lee and Kiera Canan for their never ending support and permitting Sergeant Seaman to attend this once in a lifetime leadership training. Also, a big thank you to previous Mayor Riley for her support when this process began a couple of years back. The Mayor and all members of Council show their dedication to Carnegie Borough and the Carnegie Police Department by preparing for the future.

Traffic Pattern Changes at Carnegie Elementary

By now, you've probably noticed that the Carnegie Elementary Renovation Project is well underway. We want to ensure that the community is aware of changing traffic patterns in the area at school pick-up and drop-off times. Please use the map and directions below to help us make this a safe school year for our community.

Morning Drop-Off (approx. 8:15-8:45)
-Parents who choose to drive their students to school will drop off students at the corner of Charles Street and Franklin Avenue. There will be NO PARKING on Charles Street within 30 feet of this intersection during school drop-off time.
-Students will exit four vehicles at a time when directed by school staff.
-Students will exit the car on the right-hand side of the vehicle and proceed to the main entrance.
-ALL TRAFFIC WILL TURN LEFT ONTO FRANKLIN AVENUE DURING SCHOOL DROP-OFF TIME. Please refer to the map below and adjust your route accordingly.

Afternoon Pick-Up (approx. 2:45-3:15)
-Pick-up remains largely unchanged. Parents who drive to pick-up will need to park on nearby streets and walk to the building to meet their child.
-Please follow the pick-up information provided by the district so that you know where to meet your child after school.

Carnegie Police Department will be providing additional officers to help ensure traffic flow and student safety, but the public can expect delays as we all adjust to the change in traffic patterns during the renovation.

Above all, please be patient and mindful of the neighbors in the streets surrounding the school, keeping driveways clear and accessible. If there are any changes, we will communicate with the community here.

We wish everyone a safe and happy school year!

PIP, PIP, HOORAY! 🎉

Party in the Park kicks off on Saturday, May 30th at Carnegie Park beginning at noon and will close out with a fireworks show. This is a first of its kind celebration in Carnegie, so please expect a large presence of families and traffic in and around the park. We ask that everyone attending is respectful of all park rules and if there are questions throughout the event, volunteer staff will be available.

Headley's Brewing will also be joining us from 3pm-8pm!

Thank you to our sponsors who donated to make this event possible.

We hope to see you all there!
