Fire Prevention Week tip: Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer. Cheap or off-brand chargers may not meet important safety standards and can increase the chance of a fire.

In the spirit of Fire Prevention Week, we’re raising awareness about safe charging habits. Charge your devices on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or bare floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat.

Help us spread the word about fire safety and protect our community by volunteering with Carney’s Point! Get started today at https://protectcarneyspoint.org/
